The Rain Barrel Effect:

Think of your body as a rain barrel.   When we are exposed to indoor dust, mites, pet
dander, it may be tolerable for our bodies, as we adjusted to that over time and the
“barrel” holds the rain in place. However, when spring adds pollen, mold, opened
windows to bring the outside symphony of blooming flowers in, perhaps even exhaust
fumes into our homes, and pets carrying it in as well on their fur and paws, our bodies,
the big rain barrel, begins to overflow and soon we have full blown allergy attacks and
even sinus infections. Add stress into that mix and we’re heading for a big spill-over into
illness.

Now is the time to plan so your allergies won’t get out of control.

Is it pollen? Most people blame pollen for their allergies, but dust mites, pet dander, and
mold can also cause them. Once you know what things set off your symptoms, you can
avoid them. You may want to ask your doctor if they can provide allergy testing to see what
is at the top of your list of triggers.
Is it your home? While tress and flowers are about to bloom, it may be a good idea to
keep your windows closed if you know for certain that this time of year causes a flare-up.
Also, vacuum your carpets and clean your hardwood floors more frequently during this
time.
Don’t forget your hair and clothes! Pollen gathers on them. If you’re outside on a high-
pollen day, wash your clothes and rinse your hair. Breathable fabrics such as cotton or wool
can attract and hold onto pollen.
Treat allergy symptoms with natural remedies.

You can stay on top of this daily by using soothing saline sprays and cleansers that will
gently help calm and cleanse your sinus irritation. Eye Drops, immune boosting
